How it works
How It Works
Three steps: tell us what you need, one of our brokers picks it up, they compare lenders.
Getting a home loan sorted in Geelong takes three steps: tell us what you need, one of our local brokers picks it up, and they compare lenders to find a loan that suits you. It’s free to you and there’s no obligation to proceed. Here’s exactly how each step works.
Step 1: Tell us what you need
You fill in a short form. It asks what you’re trying to do, whether that’s buying a first home, refinancing, investing, building or something else, plus roughly the numbers and where you’re buying. It takes a few minutes and you don’t need any documents to start.
The reason we ask a bit of detail is so we get you the right broker. A first home buyer in Lara and an investor in Waurn Ponds need different brokers. The more we know, the better the fit.
Step 2: One of our brokers picks it up
We take your details and pass them to a licensed local broker who handles your type of loan and works in your area. That’s the part we do: getting you to the right broker. We don’t lend and we don’t give the advice ourselves. Your broker is licensed to do all of that, and they know the Geelong market.
They then get in touch to talk through your situation properly.
Step 3: They compare lenders, at no cost to you
Now your broker does the real work. They look at your situation, work out your borrowing power, and compare loans across their lender panel, often 20 to 40 lenders, from the big banks to smaller ones. They bring back a shortlist, explain the trade-offs, and if you decide to go ahead, they handle the application through to settlement and chase the lender when it stalls.
You don’t pay for that. Brokers in Australia are usually paid by the lender when the loan settles, so for most people the service is free. If a fee ever applied, your broker tells you in writing before anything is submitted.
No phone tag, no pressure
Worth saying: there’s no phone number here, and that’s deliberate. Everything runs through the form and email until your broker reaches out to you directly. No call centre, no chasing, no pressure to proceed. If the broker isn’t the right fit, you can walk away, and it’s still cost you nothing.

Common questions
How long does it take to hear from a broker?
The form takes a few minutes to fill in. After that one of our local brokers gets in touch to talk through your situation. There's no phone queue at our end, since the whole process runs through the form and email until your broker reaches out.
What happens after I submit the form?
Your details go to a licensed local broker who handles your type of loan and knows your area. They contact you to discuss what you need, compare lenders on your behalf, and if you decide to proceed, manage the application through to settlement. You're under no obligation at any point.
Do I have to go ahead with the broker who contacts me?
No. Talking to one of our brokers costs nothing, and there's no obligation to use them. If it's not the right fit, you can walk away or tell us and we'll help. The whole thing is free and no-pressure by design.
What information do I need to provide?
Start with the basics: what you're trying to do, roughly the numbers involved, and where you're buying. Later steps ask about your situation and how to reach you. You don't need documents to enquire. Your broker sorts out paperwork like payslips and statements once you're talking.
